Review
Though Boston has no shortage of
great steakhouses, Abe & Louie's is a dependable Boylston Street staple.
Infused with a classic elegance, the rich mahogany and sumptuous leather
décor are the perfect backdrop to the traditional steakhouse experience that
Abe & Louie's provides. During the warmer months, the first floor dining
room expands out onto the sidewalk, and the large open windows afford a
great view of the Prudential Center and surrounding shops. I've never had
anything but the most diligent of wait staff, and have visited Abe &
Louie's on many occasions, for lunch, dinner, and private parties. The menu
offers few surprises; its exactly what you'd expect from a great steakhouse.
The beauty of this establishment is that they do what they do very well, and
I've always found that they prepare their Filet Mignon to perfection.
Portions are ample, and their offering of accompanying sides is sure to
please any diner. Their Steak and Tomato Salad lunch-offering is a
personal favorite, and if you like your Steak Au Poivre they do it just
right (and offer some delectable sauces to compliment). Pricing is moderate
given the quality and portions, and in my estimation, all-in-all it's worth
every dime. The location is easily accessible to public transportation, but
trying to park in Back Bay is a guaranteed hassle. Save room for
dessert - their Chocolate Soufflé and Crème Brule are both traditional (and
excellent) ways to cap off the classic steakhouse experience. -Kim |
