Review
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle typically associated with the
North End, Davide is authentic old-world Italy at its best. Lodged
below ground level, Davide gives off a homey and inviting ambiance. The
dining room is without pretence, so if fancy is what you're looking for,
you won't find it here. The menu serves up a good selection of Italian cuisine, including inventive appetizers, as well as pasta, seafood, meat,
and poultry dishes. We started with a Fantasia Salad as well as a Seared
Shrimp with Sorbet appetizer, ordered the Spinach Spaghetti with Plum
Tomato Sauce and Veal Scaloppini Pizzaiola for our entrees, and
completed the meal with orders of New York-style Cheesecake and Tiramisu.
The flavors were unmatched, every bite bringing life to the term "melts
in your mouth." The award-winning wine list wasn't overly extensive, but
offers up some great gems. The service was personal and friendly - our
server had a true Italian charm that matched the overall dining
experience. Entrees range from $20 - $35 - an exceptional value for the
quality and overall experience. However, portions weren't huge - not
what you'd expect form a typical Italian eatery. Located in one of the
less traveled sections of the North End, Davide is tough to get to by
foot, and parking is nearly impossible - make use of the valet. -Mike
