Review
Hip South End restaurant serving contemporary French cuisine. The atmosphere is modern and trendy; Mistral feels like an upscale lounge with its tall windows and ceilings together with elegant decorative elements and chic clientele. The noise level can get loud, which tends to create a festive atmosphere. The menu has a Mediterranean flair, with several interesting entrees.  I decided on the Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Mascarpone Sauce, a choice I did not regret. It was one of the better meals I have had in Boston.  However, I have heard that the seafood preparations aren’t up to par with the rest of the menu. Pricing is very expensive – worth the value if your interest is seeing and being seen. I truly enjoyed my visit, but I could understand how one may not if the contemporary setting is not their scene. Valet parking is recommended, as parking is very tough to find in the South End, especially if you don’t know the in-and-outs of the city.  -Mike & Kim
