Review
The Oak Room is an elegant dining room set in one of Boston’s finest hotels, the Fairmont Copley, located in the heart of Back Bay. The atmosphere has a distinguished feel, mixing a signature oak motif with a classical touch. The menu centers on several superb steak cuts and traditional seafood entrees. The sides and appetizers are served family style, typically with great abundance. During my latest visit, I enjoyed the surf and turf – a twelve ounce filet mignon coupled with a one-and-a-quarter pound lobster, with a side of béarnaise sauce. I have to say it was one of the finest meals I have ever had. The service was top notch, as the staff was very attentive, surpassing the needs of our large party of eleven. The Oak Room is very expensive, but still a good value for that very special event. Arrive early and have a drink at the Oak Bar, one of the most striking rooms in the entire city. -Mike
